Irving the Elephant. Acrylic on canvas by Jacqueline Medeiros. All Rights Reserved. Photo taken on Safari in South Africa. This painting captures a rare close up encounter with these incredible endangered giants.
I find myself drawn to painting the human form but I feel the need to balance the intensity of capturing the depth of the human condition with the lightness of painting the simple beauty of animals or still lifes. I am particularly fond of acrylics and am known for deep, rich colors in my paintings. Adoring the great impressionist painters, particularly Renoir, I strive to bring a more impressionistic looseness to my representational work and enjoy exploring a variety of subject matters. I paint whatever stirs my soul.
