White Heron custom framed - my photograph taken in preserve at St. Augustine, Florida. "Serenity in the Everglades" because she looked so peaceful. I used artistic license in the location and the eggs, which were not in the photograph. I love manipulating reality when appropriate. Linen & Bronze frame. My passion for art began watching the T.V. series , “John Nagy Learns to draw” when I was a young girl. I sketched whenever I had the opportunity.
Like so many other women of my generation, ensuing years were filled with raising a family, sustaining a career, and developing myself as a person. After retirement from my professional life in the dental field, I decided to take formal Art Classes and studied with a watercolor Artist in Stony Brook, New York, who taught and exhibited much of her work in New York and California.
As the years passed, I needed a change and was drawn to the vibrancy and fluidity of oils. I prefer using a variety of my photos for reference in my compositions as well as what I see in my imagination. I love the contrast of lights and darks.
I continue to take classes on an as needed basis and have my own studio space in Tequesta, Florida, at the Village Art Studios in Gallery Square North.
