Nautilus by Suzanne Barton. All Rights Reserved. The ocean touches all our lives no matter where we live or what we do. Due to human induced stresses 75% of the world’s coral reefs are threatened. This fragile ecosystem is essential to life as we know it. My artistic view is: It’s not just about the beauty, but the message behind the beauty. WE must come together in an ‘interdependent communion’ with nature BEFORE we lose this beauty. Through art I hope to catalyze public and political movement for coral reef conservation. We hold the future of this fragile ecosystem in our hands. We must act and the time is NOW!
