ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2017 Submission.
Mom and Babe by Merry Renert. All Rights Reserved.
Born in New York City (the Bronx) I grew up surrounded by art, classical music and literature. I began oil painting with my maternal grandfather in his kitchen at age 8. Today I make my home in South Florida where I work and sell my paintings from my home studio. My recent works involve collage (often utilizing hand-dyed papers) acrylic paint and resist techniques. I am currently illustrating a children's book while creating a sports themed collection of mixed media paintings. Art has always been my passion. After attending the Art Students League in New York City as a youngster, I went on to graduate from Music and Art High School and then a BFA from Hunter College with post-graduate work at the Hartford Art School and Nova Southeastern University. Recently I have shown my work locally at the Boca Raton Museum of Art School and have been accepted and sold at Nude NIght Orlando as well as several local shows.
