Miss Kitty, oil painting by Zimbabwe artist, Helen Botha. Seeing the world through the eyes and soul of an artist, passionate about making change and striving for the conservation of all living species endangered in the places we live in, and make our world a better place for all through art.
"This painting is called "Miss Kitty". She is a very special bird with a beautiful soul and a very special story. A Great Horned Owl she is now 13 years old. She lives at the Sun-Coast Bird Sanctuary in Florida. Miss Kitty was shot which resulted in an operation to save her life. A substantial portion of her wing tip had to be amputated after which she was unable to fly leaving her incapable of being able to deal with life in the wild. She is now endangered because of the carelessness of mankind but we can give her a happier and more interesting life through our photography and painting.
