Jennifer & the Butterfly. Acrylic on canvas by Sally-Anne Bedford. All Rights Reserved. Jennifer is a rescued chimpanzee that lives in a sanctuary. I have painted her several times because I think she is just beautiful and her expressions are stunning. I painted part of this portrait on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square as part of the 'One & Other' Art installation. My aim was to highlight the plight of laboratory animals.
I wanted to portray her seeing freedom for the first time.
