The Grizzly Bear was listed as Federally threatened by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in 1975. These majestic animals, although on the path to recovery, are still at risk, mainly due to illegal poaching and the loss of habitat. In this fast-paced, globalized society, we often disregard our responsibility to the Earth and overlook our place in the delicate web of life. My depictions of endangered species capture the pureness and serenity of the natural world. The animals I render embody anthropomorphic qualities to emphasize the inherent relationship between humans and nature, and to convey the deep, intimate, charismatic essence of these species we find so fascinating. My art serves as a constant reminder of the choice we have to accept or deny our responsibilities as stewards of the environment.
