Fragments of memories, observations, fears, and desires are all applied to the painting surface using different tools and techniques. These abstract expressions manifest themselves in the form of colors, lines, drawings, symbols, and words. It is all in the moment, I get them down and move on, adding layer upon layer with no preconceived outcome.

Out of this process new stories are born, new relationships formed, new desires realized. Conscious choices are now made, keeping the areas of the painting that are relevant to the new story, obliterating the areas that no longer serve it, and adding new ones. This is when images start to emerge and the paintings take on a life of their own. Searching for their own truth, they expand into their own story.

Finally the paintings becomes your story. From your perspective you discover fragments from your own experience, make new connections, and see new possibilities.
