The Fisherman by Brian Hoover. All Rights Reserved.
This painting represents a technique I call a splash painting. I pour liquefied paint on to the surface of a canvas, then I begin to Rorschach images I see in the drying paint. I this case, I saw an elephant. I have used elephants many times in my work. Not only are they endangered, but to my they are the epitome of nobility and grace. I often anthropomorphize them imbuing with spiritual sensibilities.
