SUBMISSION: Into the eyes by Nancy Duffany

Into the eyes by Nancy Duffany. All Rights Reserved.

I consider myself a wildlife artist. I strive to capture the unique and majestic features of each animal I paint. I love to make their eyes and muscles come alive.

I chose to enter the Sumatran tigers that I have painted. One is on acrylic on canvas and the other is acrylic on a metal saw blade. The tiger on the saw blade represents how the tigers of Sumatra are being driven into extinction by deforestation to promote agricultural growth on the island. The saw blade signifies cutting of the forest and the tiger painted on the blade signifies the tiger's vulnerability.  With the tiger on the canvas, I wanted to capture the mystical sadness in his eyes.
