Exit Eden No. 17. Photography by Doug Fogelson who says"Exit Eden is a series that addresses my concerns about loss via climate change. Transformative effects of climate change are made visible through the abstraction of landscape photography. I photograph natural areas, often using overlapping multiple exposures, and then remove layers of the film's emulsion with chemicals, decay, or friction. Partially destroying the image mimics the state of our bedraggled resources, thus the pieces in Exit Eden become tableaux to the disappearing qualities and scenes of Nature as we once knew it. Representing the issue in this manner confronts the loss of the original image, the analog color transparency. Ironically the newly created image is often seen as beautiful and a personification of change." For more of Doug's work please visit his website at www.dougfogelson.com
