East African Crown Crane, acrylic on canvas by Debbie Nelson. All Rights Reserved. The beautiful East African Crowned Crane, its feathery gilded crown touched with gold, is illuminated before a forested background.
“I love color and it is all-important in my art, whether it is the aqua blue ocean, a pearlescent pink bird's feather, the shifting cream tones of wet sand or a vibrant yellow cottage. The texture and versatility of acrylic paint suits my style well.I have shades in mind and I create a mental image of my subject as completed. I determine what colors emphasize, enhance, or enlighten my scene. I do not try to recreate the accuracy of a photograph. My subjects are clear, but painted with a touch of whimsical perspective.”
