Conserve by Wesley Kotas. Pencil, crayon, and marker on paper. Wesley is 10 years old and in 5th grade at Spruce Street School in Seattle. "Seven of my primate characters and Abe, their adopted cobra brother, hold up signs asking humans to "CONSERVE" their natural habitats.
I have always loved drawing, and I have a special affection for primates. Thus, I combined the two and decided to create cartoons with primates as the main characters. My stuffed primate collection serves as the inspiration for an in-home drawing shop and a website. See my stuffed animals come to life through my artwork!
Primates should be protected and allowed to live freely in their natural habitats. They are our closest relatives in the Animal Kingdom. Protect and save the primates!"
Well done, Wesley, this is a great piece of work with a very clear message!
