ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2021 Submission
My work is mainly inspired by nature, biology, and personal experiences. I enjoy experimenting with different techniques and processes, such as printmaking, collage, and mix-media such as paper, found objects, and candle wax to achieve an abstract representation of how I imagine nature. Evolution is one of my main inspirations for creating art, especially the transformation of things. Creating images that are layered with science, nature, and global issues allows me to educate people about these topics. When I paint animals, I use strong and vibrant colors to represent the importance these animals have in our life. For these pieces I depicted and emphasized the beauty of gorillas and orangutans and the commonalities we share to bring awareness of the need to protect these primates, who are living connections of our common ancestors.
