ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2021 Submission
Feel the intensity of this jaguars emotion as he stares off, wondering what the future of his species holds.
This original oil piece on wood panel places the rare jaguar against a black backdrop, highlighting his power and bringing the viewer a sense of awe and wonder while admiring his every detail.
There are only an estimated 15,000 jaguars left in the wild, with Brazil holding the greatest population. The upper right spot, below his ear, is shaped as the country of Brazil. This brings a factual piece of information to the viewer and hopefully leaves the art appreciator a sense of conviction and urgency in the need to protect this species.
As an artist, this piece was powerful and humbling to create. I feel a sense of responsibility to share this animal and his story with the world.
