ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2021 Submission
Due to indiscriminate hunting and killing, the number of golden monkeys has fallen; deforestation has also destroyed their habitat. In Vietnam, the rapidly growing population has damaged the virgin forest and squeezed their living space. Hunting for fur and oriental medicine has also made them more scarce. In 1989, they became a national first-class protected animal and they are included in the ""World Conservation Union”. They are not only a symbol of China, but also one of the important endangered species. In my painting, a golden monkey leans on a branch, and the background is a vast snow scene. This reflects their loneliness and helplessness. The snow scene behind reflects their slim chance of survival. The purpose of my painting is to appeal to everyone not to over-kill animals and to protect the environment. Because maybe in the end it is ourselves who will suffer. We must work together to protect animals, protect the environment, and protect the world.
