ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2019 Submission
As an artist, I am fascinated by the beauty of nature, especially close up. This painting is from a photograph I took on the grounds of the Payne Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. My husband and I are snowbirds now, migrating between Florida and Wisconsin. At both these locations we see and appreciate Monarch butterflies at these two different points in their multi-generational migration. Monarch populations have been plummeting for the last several years and I am saddened by the threat of loss of theses magnificent creatures in the wake of pesticide use and global warming.
