Mexican Grey Wolf by Jacob Tarazoff. All Rights Reserved.
I am a painter. Presently I am focusing on the idea of landscape in my work. I feel it would be irresponsible to make images of the land that don’t acknowledge human environmental degradation. My aim is to present an homage, a visual exaltation, to the elemental natural processes that have shaped not only the Earth, but also our own biological and sociocultural selves. Weathering, Deposition, Erosion, Uplift, and other tectonic processes, astronomical influences on the terrestrial, and the interactions between the Earths biospheres are the primary interests with this work. Natural processes at work in the universe have interacted to create life on this planet. My painting is meant to convey my own wonder and appreciation for these events, which reach far beyond human catastrophe and will continue long after we are gone.
