ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2018 Submission.
I am an anthropological designer: an interdisciplinary artist, writer, and performer inspired by how the past impacts the present. The design components of my work make use of my frequent travels to spheres of indigenous cultures where I research myths, folklore, and ancient/extinct artistic endeavors. As part of my efforts to participate in meaningful and reciprocal artistic learning experiences, I document these interactions and then incorporate elements of newly gained knowledge into my own art. I create three-dimensional body puppets, shadow puppets, shadow sets, silhouette animations, stop-motion animations, masks, light boxes, stories, songs, and sets.
