ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2018 Submission.
My work is directed by the daily inter action with the natural world. That which I plant and grow, and, that which I am blessed to encounter through empathy and observation.
The piece I enter titled " The Guardian" is of a Snowy Egret in Morningside Park, Miami Florida, whom I photographed daily as I walked the park, where the fishermen fished, and the guardian waited for bits of fish. It landed on the pilings, with the other cranes, those whom destroy it's natural environment, in the back ground. I painted the "Ghost" or "Dove" Orchid as the clouds.
This piece is one of a series in which I feel the company of the natural world engaging with those whom have empathy for our South Florida environment. I find it lovely that it felt safe and at ease with the fishermen and myself. I was and am deeply moved through the experience of being accepted into this Snowy Cranes circle of safety and feel, as an artist, the obligation to visually share this sentiment.
