ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2018 Submission.
People exclaim that my art captures Florida landscapes, birds and tropical botanicals with sparkling light and vibrant color. I want to make people feel like they can walk into a picture or reach out and touch something as if it is just outside a window. I use traditional oils on linen or canvas with emphasis on light, color and texture. The goal is capturing atmosphere, depth and beauty of a special moment in time. Large paintings that create immediacy, making you feel part of the scene, is a key to the drama I aim to inspire for the viewer. I am a strong supporter of protecting our wild mustangs on public lands and parks. Half of all proceeds from the sale of my mustang paintings are donated to the tax deductible wild horse fund of the purchaser’s choice with their name as donor so they get the tax donation. Our wild mustangs are being removed from public lands in frightful numbers and harmful means. Let’s get the message out to protect, preserve and manage these herds humanely.
