I approached this zebra rolling in red dust at Tanzania’s Ngorongoro Crater. Its bold stripes were muted by ochre, providing contrast to the animal’s gentle eye. Despite being one of Africa’s iconic species, zebra populations are decreasing, a reminder that we all need to keep an eye on Africa.
