Gisela and her husband Howald Pferdekamper arrived in Florida from Germany in 1975 with a Hanoverian stallion and 32 broodmares. Gisela organized the first Palm Beach Dressage Derby at her Hannover Farm in White Fences - Loxahatchee.

Gisela's surrealistic art vision sees the growing and stabilizing of the equestrian world in pregnant mares. Since her youth, she spent years riding, educating, and breeding horses. The “fat” but in reality, pregnant horse can be found in many of her paintings.

Gisela's art has been displayed at numerous exhibitions like Max Schaknow Museum Miami, EXPO New York, EXPO Chicago, ART Miami, Worth Avenue, Palm Beach FL, and the WHITE HOUSE. Renowned Equestrians and beyond like Janne Rumbough and her husband Stanley, Robert Dover, Shannon Rawlingson, Susanne Dutt-Roth, Peter Kjellerop, Mandy Cabot represent a part of the private collectors among many others.

Why I entered the Endangered Fine Art and Photography Contest?

I entered the contest to deliver my art message to as many people and as many living rooms as possible. Especially in times like today, I believe that art can bring us some joy and distraction from what is going on in the world nowadays.

I feel that without the Equine sport, there is no need for horses anymore and they would sooner or later end up on the endangered list. I love animals and want to prevent it.
