SUBMISSION: Silver Back Gorilla by Gloria Olguin
Silver Back Gorilla in acrylic inks by Gloria Olguin. All Rights Reserved. A few years ago I picked up a paint brush and decided to try my hand at painting. After my mothers’ passing I found painting very cathartic and it gave me a sense of well-being. I love the entire process of painting. My canvases seem to be waiting for my hands to free them from their white, blank faces.
My Mexican heritage, with its passion for life and culture, has helped me express my art with vibrant colors and honest heartfelt emotion.
I create my art from the inside out, expressing what I have experienced, not what I see in front of me. My goal is to be able to create what I love, and to brighten peoples’ lives by creating an emotional connection.
Many of my pieces are Mexican Folk Art and Abstract Acrylic. However, my most recent inspirations are the “Silver Back Gorilla” and “Rhino” which were painted in acrylic inks. I love the freedom and fluid movement when creating with inks. It gives my art a sense of movement.
