Schnitz is a large male orangutan at the Virginia zoo. He's so attached to his blanket and loves draping it over his head. I am rediscovering a love of drawing and painting from my youth. Sharing being out in nature and observing animals and plants with my children and students has been a great joy. My career teaching high school students about marine life and biology has ended, but the learning continues for me. Through my art I hope to share the dignity and individuality of wild animals with others.
