National Geographic has revised this figure upward to 30,000 killed each year. The Revisited series pulls together images from the years Kaufman lived, worked and traveled in southern Africa and to explore a line between representation and abstraction. The acrylic paintings aim to raise the awareness of Africa's diminishing wildlife population and draw attention to the disappearance of keystone species.
