SUBMISSION: Playtime by Deborah Martin
An encaustic series that focuses on the endangered elephants of Africa. Elephants that are being killed for their ivory tusks - used to make trinkets. Part of my mission is to make meaningful artwork that educates people to the slaughter that is taking place - I use drawings, writings and poetry combined with encaustic to create my artwork. I am also a member of the David Sheldrake Trust that rehabilitates orphaned elephants. Through these efforts I hope to make a difference.
