SUBMISSION: GALAPAGOS SEA LION AND JENNY DANCER CRAB BY PATRICK WALSH
Galapagos Sea lion and Jenny Dancer Crab by Patrick Walsh. Patrick's works are NOT digital and are NOT done in Photoshop! The work consists of hundreds of different individual photos placed together to make one single image. Here is what he says about his method "I scout potential locations without shooting, then I think about and plan how a work, which may encompass as much as a 360 Degree panorama, will translate into my vision. The camera has only one eye so I shoot hundreds of photographs keeping in mind how one sees. I try to keep everything in focus, front to back and side to side. The piece will be mostly in focus everywhere as if the camera had two eyes. I consider how the weather may influence the piece. I go to the location and wait, often from dawn to dusk, for the right conditions. Sometimes it all works out, sometimes it doesn’t. If not, I come back again. After I shoot, the difficult process of putting the piece together begins. Sometimes it takes years before I feel the piece is right."
