African Elephant contoured in the American Flag. In my paintings, I'm trying to render what happened when my viewer blinked. I like to capture instances of dramatic lighting, creating unique scenes in fleeting circumstances. To me, long shadows and intense lighting appeals to our mind's eye. Building up texture and layering glazes creates vivacity and most importantly a feeling or mood. For my goal is ... to go beyond conventional representations of nature to explore the sensory experiences that nature inspires. I have come to learn that my paintings grow on the viewer, the more they look the more they see and appreciate. I find personal satisfaction in that.

In all of my work, paying meticulous attention to detail is challenging and exciting. Through the imagery of art I reveal my passion for the beauty of nature, interest in human interaction and love of expressing both. Hopefully, the result is outstanding and incomparable works of art.
