Submission: Beating the Odds by Bertrand Jubert

Beating the Odds by Bertrand Jubert (BeJu). In BeJu's words, "More and more, I find myself wanting to intervene against the often ridiculous, sometimes voluntary, and usually unconscious behavior of humanity towards nature. I understand that we will not defeat the voluntary actions of the vile without first bringing awareness to the unconscious actors. Through my art, it is to them that I dedicate this piece. On the beach, a forgotten worn out towel that accidentally trapped a turtle's nest. Being resolutely optimistic, I provided a tear in the towel for the hatchlings to escape. One after the other crossing the towel, they take "flight" proving that eventually nature in its resilience, will beat the odds that we have become within itself. My motive is to inform to motivate so that we may all act positively."
