Amaan has followed art as his singular passion - after his art education in school there was a 4-year hiatus, when he followed his undergraduate program in Geography and Environment at McGill University. He however, continually returned to Art, as this was where he reclaimed his self - he is currently following a second Master’s program in London after completing his MFA in Florence

Amaan draws inspiration from the world around - his cross-cultural exposure and academic background in Geography influence his artwork as he portrays social, environmental & political issues of our time. His pieces offer a wide variety from traditional South Asian patterns, figurative elements and writing, to cityscapes and landscapes in watercolor, acrylic and oil.

Amaan has been keen to experiment with new materials like fabrics and silk. He has a flair for fashion design and markets limited edition painted fabric/silk pieces under the name ‘Serti by Amaan K.’
