ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2022 Submission

I saw this startling face when it went viral on the Internet. I knew I had to paint it. The most recently-discovered African monkey species was identified by Drs. Terese and John Hart and their conservation teams who are working to protect the forests in the DR Congo. This particular individual was held captive with a heavy chain around its neck when they were photographed. They wore their fate in their eyes.
