SUBMISSION: Iguana On The Move In St. Croix by Gina Judy
ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2020 Submission
With two art-degrees and being well-versed in two-dimensional media, I typically work with water-media as my first-love. I also work opaque and in a variety of mixed-media combinations. I enjoy the flow of the water on paper in an aqueous technique, and in working loosely, confidently, quickly, and boldly in a manner in which brushstrokes show. High contrasts, isolation-in-black, and the play of light on surfaces are a few hallmarks of my work. I wish to draw the viewer in to my artistic view of the world, with what their own experiences also bring to it. In choosing this iguana for its uniqueness and beauty, I have inadvertently chosen to depict one of the most endangered-species of this world.
