ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2020 Submission

As a resident of this planet concerned with our environment, the Boto, this beautiful pink river dolphin of the Amazon River basin, has been of utmost interest to this artist. The Boto has slowly been in decline, mostly due to their hunting by poachers as use as fishing bait. In 2015, the president of Brazil imposed a 5 year moratorium on it's fishing/poaching. This moratorium expired early in 2020 and was extended for only one year.... to 2021. Many people around the world are not even aware there is such an animal as a pink dolphin, which leads to this beautiful painting of a Boto to awaken awareness of it's existence and the peril of extinction that it's facing.
