Native of South East Asia, the Sun Bear is the smallest bear in existence, growing to only 28" tall with a golden patch over its chest which to the people of Malaya represents the 'rising sun'. Today, this species is greatly threatened by illegal hunting, loss of habitat, and the bile trade.
