SUBMISSION: The Dream Of The Uwohali by Kathy Copsey
ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2020 Submission
Known as the "Uwohali" in Cherokee the Eagle is considered a very sacred bird in Native American culture. The Eagle flies higher than any other bird and is believed to live both in the physical and spiritual worlds and therefore be ultimately close to the Creator. They are considered to be a very powerful animal totem helping us to learn to look at very fine details to see life with a broader perspective. This was something I wanted to represent in my piece creating an ultimate amount of fine details match the striking pose of this eagle by layering two different textures to create the details of the eagle's feathers eye and beak but it is not until you stand back and look at the picture as a whole that you have the broader perspective. This perspective is something we should all strive to see from working through the fine details required to reach the broad span of our dreams to being able to see things from others' perspectives helping us all learn to learn and understand one each other and create the best outcome possible in all ways of life.
