ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2020 Submission

I worked with this chimpanzee for several years and she amazed me every day with her ability to read and react to her group mates. She's excellent at diffusing situations, especially during tense introductions. She comforts her group mates and is a friend to everyone. But she also has a sense of humor and will often make noise or pester someone just to amuse herself. This close-up portrait was taken with an iPhone 7+.
