SUBMISSION: Dance of the Jellyfish by Evelyn Espinoza

ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2019 Submission

Evelyn digitally manipulates and arranges photographs to create one new image using Photoshop. It's a complete sense of being in that place. One visual scene capturing the totality of my travel experience. They reflect her memories: often distorted and dreamlike in their composition. They are arranged jigsaw pieces expressing how it felt to be in that place, with a sense of time having had passed.

Evelyn was born into a military moving family, spending her childhood in the USA, Italy, Germany and England. As an adult, she married a military member and has continued her travels; living in South Korea, The Azores, Japan and now, Florida. It's little wonder that the countries she has lived in and the cultures she's witnessed lend so much to her artistic practice.

Evelyn has exhibited in galleries and shows in London, Florida, Tokyo, Chicago, Cambridge, Lisbon, and Gwangju, South Korea.
