SUBMISSION: Sugar Coated Distress by Marina Golino
ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2019 Submission
I took photos of ocean water and a subject in a pool. I double exposed bubbles from the ocean over the pool photo. After printing I painted the bubbles with Winsor & Newton drawing ink to create a gross algae color. The mat board was dipped in sugar and sealed with Modge Podge spray. This shows it being (like the saying) sugar coated. The idea is to show that people are affected by water pollution in the Indian River Lagoon and sugar companies are one of the main culprits.
