ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2019 Submission

A Gentoo Penguin slides down a steep part of the snow on their way to the sea to begin their daily hunting excursion. Like most animals at the poles Gentoos are having to learn quickly to adapt to the ever changing climate.

I utilize photography in an attempt to capture the beauty that I see in the world. Whether I'm witnessing a wry smile on a mountain gorilla's face as it glances around its troop in Uganda, the character of a charismatic Amsterdam canal, or the sun breaking the shell of a new day over the wetlands near my home, my goal is to share that beauty with others through photography.

In the end, I hope my photographs evoke a feeling of connection with viewers and the subject, and potentially spark an appreciation that leads to them developing their own passion for the subject.
