ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2019 Submission

A sea of iconic baobab trees across an agricultural field on the island of Madagascar. Sadly much of the forests on the island are being destroyed but because the baobab tree is sacred they are often spared. The dramatic clouds glowed with light from the setting sun.

I utilize photography in an attempt to capture the beauty that I see in the world. Whether I'm witnessing a wry smile on a mountain gorilla's face as it glances around its troop in Uganda, the character of a charismatic Amsterdam canal, or the sun breaking the shell of a new day over the wetlands near my home, my goal is to share that beauty with others through photography.

In the end, I hope my photographs evoke a feeling of connection with viewers and the subject, and potentially spark an appreciation that leads to them developing their own passion for the subject.
