ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2018 Submission.

There is nothing in nature as inspiring to an artist as the opportunity to personally interact with wildlife in their natural habitat.  Pursuit of muse and adventure has taken me across the United States and the world with wildlife experiences from Africa to Alaska and in 2018-19 Howland Studios is planning an excursion back to Africa and then to Antarctica. Despite the beauty and wonder of these experiences, that is only the first step in the artistic process. The true artistic joy comes from the process of turning hundreds of photos, sketches, journal entries and emotional memories into a series of paintings. My deepest hope is that my images beautifully reflect the profoundness of emotion between both me and my subjects, but more than that I hope they allow the viewer to glimpse the wild within.
