ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2018 Submission.

It is my mission to celebrate the magnificence of wildlife and the natural world through my art. My passion for wildlife and the spirit and beauty in each animal is the driving force behind all of my work.

For many years I painted with acrylics on canvas. However, my commitment to look beyond the traditional has created my Sculptural Palm Frond Art. Preserving nature is central to my work, therefore integrating a natural product into my art was essential to that objective.

Using a palm frond as my canvas, I consider the unique dimensions of each frond and carefully select the wildlife image that is most suitable for the fronds curves and shape. Each realistic painting captures the essence of that animal, encouraging an appreciation and intimate connection with nature.

Prior to painting, each palm frond goes through a meticulous preparation process to ensure longevity and strength. The humble queen palm frond is then transformed into a lasting work of art.
