SUBMISSION: Costa Rica Monkeys by Judy Nakari
ENDANGERED: Fine Art & Photography Contest 2018 Submission.
As a little girl, I considered the monkeys to be the best and most important animals to visit at the zoo.
Much later, during a visit to Singapore, I stood in line to have ‘Breakfast with an Orangutan’ at the Singapore zoo. To sit at a picnic table and share a banana with an orange Orangutan was a unique thrill.
On a trip to Costa Rica a few years back, I was thrilled to see these monkeys in their natural habitat.
And now, as a painter, I have attempted to portray them in a natural setting, while imagining a family grouping of Mama and Dad keeping a close eye on the protected youngster.
